Using the Yamaha Method as a guide, students will begin to learn some basic piano skills and songs. The Yamaha Method is a research-based music education system that focuses on teaching children through listening and singing, often in group settings. It focuses on ear training and is a "music first" approach where children develop aural skills before technical reading. If time allows, we will also focus on music appreciation and beginning music theory.

Students who already have a portable keyboard are welcome to bring their own. For those who need one, a keyboard will be provided for an additional fee of $20, and it will go home with the student. Students are responsible for bringing their keyboard to each class.

**Children under 5 years old must be accompanied by a parent.
